Porto Vin Vintage 2013 - Portugal
Differential: The first Vintage Port from the prestigious house Vasques de Carvalho is born from the exceptional 2013 harvest, characterized by a rainy winter, a cold spring and a hot, dry summer that resulted in extremely concentrated wines. Coming from a rigorous selection of grapes with excellent ripeness, its careful and intense vinification in lagares (traditional stone troughs) allowed the pure essence of the terroir and the full potential required by this superior category to be captured in the bottle.
Contents: 75cl (20.5% vol.) bottle of intense ruby color with violet nuances. It presents an elegant and dense bouquet, with notes of prunes and currants wrapped in hints of dark chocolate and coffee.
How to drink: On the palate, it reveals an austere, powerful and structured wine, filled with red and wild fruit flavors, displaying a velvety and liqueur-like character. It shows firm tannins and the irreverence typical of young wines, benefiting from an excellent balance between acidity and sweetness that culminates in a long and persistent finish.
Harmonization: A serious wine with excellent aging potential, perfect for long bottle evolution. It pairs beautifully with rich dark chocolate desserts, blue cheeses, or can simply be enjoyed on its own during special celebratory moments.
